The next Scrip order will be due on Thursday, November 12 by 3:00 pm.

         New to the program and don't know what scrip is?  Here's how it works.  You purchase a retailer's gift card (called scrip) at face value and the retailer provides a percentage discount or contribution to the Boosters program.  The amount of the discount is split between the Boosters General Fund and your Student's Travel Account.  For example, if you purchase a $25 Panera Gift Card, you pay $25 to the Boosters, receive a gift card in return, present the gift card at the restaurant, and receive $25 of goods.  The Boosters purchases the card for $22.75, given the retailer's current 9% discount.  The difference of $2.25 between the face value of the card and the actual purchase price is split equally between the Boosters General Fund and your Student's Travel Account.  If you are going to be spending money at restaurants, department stores, discount stores, or grocery stores, why not use a Scrip gift card and make money for our music program and your Student's Travel Account!

         If you haven't ordered scrip before, it's easy to sign up and get started.  To sign up, register your email address at www.shopwithscrip.com.  You will also need to provide a password, your name, gender, and year of birth.  If you wish, you can enter your address.  Next, the site will prompt you to enter an "enrollment code".  For the Columbine Band Boosters Club this code is "DDL463AE8157".  Then you are ready to shop!  Payment is required at the time you place your order – you may either pay online through Scrip's PrestoPay System, drop a check in the Black Box outside of Mr. O'Neill's office in the band room, or deliver payment to Heather Davis.  Scrip orders will be ready for pickup at Heather's house about one week after the order date.

         Many merchants are now offering cards that are "reloadable".  It is easy to do online, and then you don't have a card to throw away.  Please visit Shop with Scrip Online to get more information on the reusable options.

The CHS Instrumental Music Boosters Could Win a $1,000 Donation with the Lowe's "Building Up to the Holidays" Giveaway!...

         Beginning October 17, 2009, through November 13, 2009, Lowe's will give Great Lakes Scrip Center client organizations a chance to win a $1,000, $500 or $250 donation!  The Lowe's "Building Up to the Holidays" Giveaway will reward three lucky non-profit organizations for their purchases and reloads of Lowe's Gift Cards.  Every $25 Lowe's gift card (or equivalent) purchased during this period will give your organization one entry in the drawing pool.  Buy one Lowe's $25 gift card - get one entry... buy one Lowe's $100 gift card – get four entries... reload a Lowe's gift card with $200 – get eight entries!  The more Lowe's Gift Cards your organization purchases or reloads, through November 13th, the better your organization's chances of winning.
